Black Lives Matter Movement’s Ongoing Fight As Capitol Riots Occur

The past year has been a constant battle, whether that is with political views or the view on basic human rights. We have seen people come together in protests and others rioting on government property.

With the death of George Floyd on May 25 in 2020, the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement hit its peak that summer. So many people, from a variety of backgrounds, came together to peacefully protest.

On January 6, 2021, there was an event that nobody could have imagined. On this day, riots took place in the Capitol. These rioters were violent, aggressive and dangerous. Inside the Capitol were many Congress Members who feared for their life as these rioters stormed the Capitol in such a deadly matter.

As the Capitol riots happened, many compared the outcome to the way BLM protesters were treated. As seen in in the Google Trends image above, both topics were being searched the day of the Capitol riots. While things have began to settle down, both topics have also decreased in searches.

Ashanti vs. Keyshia Cole In the Most Recent Verzuz Battle Bringing back Early 2000’s Memories

If you were into R&B during the early 2000’s, there is no way you missed the latest Verzuz battle. Verzuz, created during this pandemic, is a way for artists to have a small battle on who had the most hits. It is entertaining and a good time, especially in times like this.

This Verzuz battle had many social media platforms going through a bit of nostalgia. Twitter was full of laughs and memes, while Facebook was full of middle aged women enjoying the music. As seen in the Google Trends image, Ashanti and Keyshia Cole had a large amount of searches the day of their Verzuz battle.

Ashanti and Keyshia Cole put on a show, of course with a little drama and shade. Nonetheless, we were all enjoying the old hits of these beautiful ladies. Now seriously, who do you think won the battle?
